The Perfect Blend of Art and Nature at Meadowink Hill
When I first arrived at Meadowink Hill in Peterborough, NH, I was struck by its serene beauty. Approaching through the forest drive, the house reveals itself at the top of a hill, surrounded by broad open fields of wild grass.
But walking into a real estate shoot can be a gamble, not knowing how well the house has been staged and will present itself. However, this shoot could not have gone more smoothly, with the owner and Broker Tonya Albee having prepared the home perfectly for a seamless shoot. As an artist, you could tell Tonya knew how to take you on a journey of styles and palettes, with each room offering a new treat to view and shoot.
The home, a French Country style estate designed by the renowned architect Royal Barry Wills in his signature stately style, boasts a refined modern feel perfectly paired with the original character of the house., complete with a cozy artists’ studio at the bend of a light-filled gallery hallway.
The home’s layout and lighting were ideal, making it a photographer's dream. One of my favorite shots from this project is the detail of the primary bedroom with vaulted ceiling and canopy bed. The moment I walked into the room, softly lit by the afternoon sunlight, I knew it would be a winning shot. And it was!
One of the most impressive features of the home was the incredible fields of wild grasses surrounding it. Tonya took great pride in keeping this space wild and natural. Standing by the pool, you get the feeling you’re in your own perfect world, with the beauty going on forever until it reaches the distant mountains on the horizon.
