Rates

  • Shoot Rate

I like to think I keep things simple, so this math should be pretty easy.

My standard shoot rate is $150 per finished photo.

Do you want 3 photos? $450

Do you want 8 photos? $1200

How about 11 photos? Wait for it…. $1650

There are no minimums or maximums, and I can do about 12-15 photos a day.

This rate includes the location scout, all post-processing and the standard usage license.

If this feels outside your budget range, consider Cost-Sharing

And if you are a Real Estate Agent, this is for you.

  • Other Shoot Expenses

The standard shoot rate is for me and the equipment in my kit (including multiple cameras, lights and support equipment) which is enough for most shoots. But sometimes, you need a bit more.

If the shoot looks particularly difficult or aggressive, I may need a photo assistant to ensure we complete the day. A designer or stylist can also make for a better shoot.

Depending on the project, there could be some logistical costs, like permits and street closures or special equipment like a scissor lift. These are all too many variables to spell out here, and we would discuss these during pre-production.

Based out of Portsmouth, NH, I am pretty centrally located. But if the location is particularly far, there would be travel allowances.

And then there could be location expenses on your side to consider, like a cleaning crew to get all the dust on new construction projects.

  • Additional & Extended License

The standard shoot usage license gives you permission to use the photo in anything you self-produce and publish—things like your website, social media, brochures and flyers.

If you want to do something outside your company, like run an ad in a magazine or billboard, then a separate and additional license will need to be negotiated.

Finally, the business model of a professional photographer is to license their photos to as many people as possible. If after the shoot someone ask you if they can use the photo for their business, please refer them to me and I would love to help them out.

Individual photos are available for licensing at $100 per photo.

And if you still have lots of questions, are having trouble sleeping, or just really enjoy reading contracts, here you go!
